Heavy Metal Downhill Spindles

During the 2025 World Cup season, Neko Mullaly asked us to run a batch of 17-4 stainless steel spindles for the Frameworks Team Bikes. For 2026, he gave us his blessing to share one of his winning secrets with the masses. Here's what he had to say:

"We are stoked with the simplicity of the steel 5DEV spindles. Adding weight low and central on the bike has been a trend over the past few years and is very common among World Cup Downhill teams right now. This spindle adds 500g exactly where you need it, and can fit on any bike. We've been running it through the 2025 season and don't plan on taking them off." -Neko Mullaly/Frameworks 

While the Frameworks team bikes utilise the 29x139 length, we also made 29x145mm to accommodate the full range of DH bikes on the market. Made in the USA in San Diego out of 17-4 stainless steel, we present to you the Heavy Metal Downhill Spindles.

Compatibility: Heavy Metal spindles, like our aluminium spindles, are compatible with all of our analogue cranksets. They aren't compatible with SRAM arms or any other aftermarket crank makers.
